Sonic Youth, formed in 1981, are a group to who have inspired countless indie bands. The group
rewrote the concept of rock music with their feedback drenched experimentalism and became
a very successful cult band. Sonic Youth were quite heavily affiliated with Mudhoney, who they released a split single with. They also brought Nirvana to DGC records. After headlining the 1995 Lollapalooza tour, the band built a new studio and have released a series of experimental EPs on their own SYR label. Their last full length album was 1998's "A Thousand Leaves". |
