Disgruntled Goat formed in Leicester, April 2002 and features Duane and Fran from The Goons, Al from The Cock-Ups
and Graham from Setback. Al and Duane had been toying with the idea of making a very fast hardcore band for a while, and after witnessing an inspiring performance by F-Minus at the Charlotte in Leicester, we all agreed it was time to get naked and smoke crack. Several weeks later in an unrelated series of events, we made the band. Taking our name from the infamous(?) "Disgruntled Goat" character from The Simpsons, we hurriedly wrote a bunch of fast noisy songs and sorted out the lineup, which currently is Fran on guitar, Al on drums, Graham on bass and Duane on xylophone. The first ever Disgruntled Goat live performance happened at The Attik in Leicester, where we triumphantly performed one song at the end of The Goons' set to about 10 bemused onlookers. Despite the fact that Graham was at the gig and had his bass with him, for some inexplicable reason it was decided that a random and somewhat uncouth young man named Steve would play bass for this gig. Whatever. The band is currently rehearsing material for it's first recording and subsequent live performances. Any donations of food, clothing or money would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou |
